Sumatra's hidden soul

The humid air hung heavy as I trekked deep into the heart of Bukit Lawang's jungle. My goal: to witness orangutans in their natural habitat. Venturing beyond the familiar trails, I spent a night immersed in the rainforest, enveloped by its symphony of sounds. Each rustle of leaves heightened the anticipation. We also encountered other fascinating primates, like the playful Thomas leaf monkeys, adding to the richness of the experience. Finally, the moment arrived. A flash of orange through the dense foliage, then a mother and her baby, peacefully munching on leaves high in the trees. I watched, mesmerized, as they shared a meal, a glimpse into their gentle world. I documented this journey with my camera, capturing the beauty and fragility of these incredible creatures in their wild home. That single night in the jungle's embrace brought me closer to this experience, a reminder of the power of nature and the importance of preserving it.
